Welcome!

Imagine with me, if you will, a world where everyone’s basic needs for Life were met. Everyone had the food, water, shelter, and healthcare necessary to live creatively and freely in the world.

Imagine what it would be like to have Liberty, to be free from the tyranny of employment to freely pursue the work of living your own true life.

Happiness isn’t an end goal. It’s not a state we’ll ever achieve and sustain. Happiness is an ideal that makes day-to-day life more joyful and fulfilling in the pursuit.

Imagine how it would change your day-to-day behavior if every morning when you woke up, you set clear intentions about how you were going to pursue happiness that day.

I’ve been a teacher and/or a stay-at-home dad for going on 25 years now.

Imagine how you would fill your life if for one whole year your only “Job” was to Pursue Happiness.

Why subscribe?

When I started this project two years ago, my intention was to post a weekly newsletter. The first year basically didn’t happen. Life was falling apart.

Now that life is moving in the right direction, I’m posting content several times a week. Mostly poetry, but also essays about travels and my writing process. I’m working my way into some serial fiction, as well.

Currently, all the content is available for free. Subscribing to my Pursuit of Happiness Project keeps you in the loop. You don’t even have to log into Substack; the posts will come directly to your email box. The content is the same whether you pay for a subscription or not. I’m going to keep writing either way.
